He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University in 2000 and completed residency and fellowship training in neurology and clinical neurophysiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Tempest has served as Medical Director for several sleep centers and as Neurology Program Director at Texas NeuroRehab Center. He is the founder of Tempest Neurology and Sleep Consultants, PLLC, and currently serves as Principal Investigator at FutureSearch Trials of Neurology. Dr Lisa Perdue is a renowned psychiatrist with more than 35 years of clinical, research, and academic experience. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1990 and completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, where she then served for 5 years on the faculty. Dr Perdue is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and balances her research responsibilities with positions in forensic psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and county-level mental health programs.

Dr Michael J Downing is an accomplished psychiatric clinician and researcher with more than 35 years of clinical, research, and academic experience. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas at Houston in 1990 and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.
